Chris Bass, Director of Author Marketing Services, AuthorHive
Chris’s vast knowledge of integrated marketing stems from his more than 15 years of experience in brand marketing and strategy. From leading creative teams to implementing collaborative marketing communications plans, his background includes brand management with established companies including Eli Lilly Japan, Zimmer Hips and ITT Technical Institute. He also held the vice president, general manager position at Malone Advertising. Chris received a degree in communications from Purdue University.

Marcus Chait, Director of New Media, AuthorHive
Marcus brings a wide range of experience to our team from the entertainment world. He recently worked as Creative Consultant to the CEO of United Artists before moving on to become Head of Development and a producer at Chestnut Ridge Productions. He is currently a principal partner with Lost Rhino Films. Marcus has worked alongside famed Hollywood producer Paula Wagner (producer of such films as Mission: Impossible I, II & III, The Last Samurai, Vanilla Sky, and The Others), and produced the off-Broadway concert of Notes To MariAnne and the independent film On The X. Marcus has appeared in a variety of films and television shows including Clint Eastwood’s Million Dollar Baby, North Country, House, ER, Medium, NCIS, Numb3rs, CSI Miami & New York, and Without a Trace. On Broadway, he starred in the original casts of The Pirate Queen and Urban Cowboy. Marcus has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Carnegie-Mellon University.

Jessica Barrett, Events Manager, AuthorHive
Jessica has held positions in account management, product marketing, marketing communications and events management for more than 10 years in both agency and corporate environments. While at an Indianapolis advertising and design agency she was the account manager for the NCAA as well as worked closely on the Indianapolis branding initiative. Jessica received her Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Marian University.

Susan Dunn, Media Marketing Manager, AuthorHive
With more than 24 years in management, Susan brings an impressive amount of expertise to AuthorHive. Her professional experience includes serving as the senior marketing communications manager for Duke Realty Corporation where she oversaw a staff of regional marketing managers and graphic designers. She began her career with the Roman Brand Group where she held managerial positions overseeing project management, performance management and creative services. Susan received a Bachelor of Science degree in organizational leadership and project management from Anderson University.

Kevin Gray, Public Relations Manager
Kevin has more than a decade of public relations experience. He has extensive background in media relations, event planning and execution, crisis communications and communications management in various capacities while serving Fortune 500 companies, universities, non-profits and professional sports franchises; and he’s worked with media ranging from USA Today to the Tonight Show to ABCNews and ESPN. Kevin holds bachelors and masters degrees from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.

Shelley Rogers, Marketing Manager, AuthorHive
Shelley has more than 15 years experience in book sales and marketing for traditional publishing companies, including Macmillan Publishing and Sports Publishing. Her background with Author Solutions as the publishing program manager and national account manager gave her experience in directing and implementing marketing plans for a select group of high-profile authors and projects. Shelley received a Bachelor of Science degree in journalism/advertising from Ball State University.

Sandy Dunwoody, Literary Publicist, AuthorHive
Sandy has literary expertise that runs the gamut, from writing and editing to marketing, publicity and promotions. She has a strong background in journalism, holding writing and editing positions with high-circulation newspapers like the Indiana Daily Student and News-Sentinel. As a literary publicist, she has garnered her author’s placement in media outlets such as the Houston Press, Boston Globe, Brooklyn Daily Eagle, Colorado Springs Gazette, Charleston Post and Courier, NBC Connecticut and Food and Beverage magazine.  Sandy is a member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from Indiana University, double-majoring in journalism and English. She is currently working towards a Master of Arts degree in Public Relations from Indiana-University Purdue-University Indianapolis.

Shik Love, Senior Writer, AuthorHive
Shik has over 10 years of editorial and marketing experience. She brings a diverse writing resume, having worked as a journalist, a grant writer and a biographer. Her expertise is working directly with writers and art organizations in maximizing their publicity gains. Her background includes marketing outreach for nationally-published writers and for the award-winning nonprofit, Write Around Portland. Her creative writing has appeared in Writer’s Digest and literary journals. Shik is a graduate of the Gaylord College of Journalism at the University of Oklahoma and a member of Public Relations Society of America (PRSA).

Hashim Hathaway, Literary Publicist, AuthorHive
Hashim is an expert in public relations catering to diverse audiences, with six years of experience working with various clients and projects. Previous clients include the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bloomington, The Center for Sound Sleep, Reynolds Inliner and the Indiana Construction Association. Hashim takes a 360 degree approach to publicity where results-driven, targeted public relations and outreach is the key to building sustainable media awareness. Rebecca Roberts, Marketing Customer Support Supervisor, AuthorHive
Rebecca’s book industry background includes retail management, marketing strategy, author events, sales to schools and libraries, and fundraising with non-profit literacy and arts organizations. Dubbed a “customer service guru” during her time as a Community Relations Manager with Barnes & Noble Booksellers, she brings her love of the book industry to her work with AuthorHive. Rebecca earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Marian University.

Megan Leiter, Event Coordinator, AuthorHive
Megan has worked in marketing for small and large businesses in Bloomington including Hoosier House Help and Indiana University. Recently, Megan transitioned from her initial position as a publicist with AuthorHive to an event coordinator and social media specialist to round out her publicity experience. In addition to her work at AuthorHive, she is an active member of the Bloomington community and frequently volunteers her publicity expertise to area non-profit groups. Megan holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism from Indiana University, specializing in public relations and marketing.

Brittani Hensel, Project Coordinator, AuthorHive
As a project coordinator for the publicity department, Brittani is an integral factor in campaign implementation from start to finish. Brittani’s publicity experience comes from preparing campaigns for Indiana non-profits, like Bloomington’s Big Brothers Big Sisters and the Indiana Forest Alliance.  She had a hand in developing Indiana University School of Journalism’s fully functioning student-run agency, Agency 7.  While with Agency 7, Brittani acted as Account Executive for the agency’s first national client, and independent author from New Jersey. She acted as the main point of contact, and helped strategize pitches for the media. She graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism, double majoring in journalism and communications. 

Zac Workman, Marketing Specialist, AuthorHive
Zac brings a unique level of marketing experience to our team.  Prior to serving with us, he ran a small energy drink company where he learned a great deal about public relations, social media and viral marketing.  He is currently a member of the Orr Entrepreneurial Fellowship of Indiana and received his Bachelor of Science in Entrepreneurship and Finance from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University.
